Driver Daniel Scott was competing in New Zealand’s Toyota 86 Series when he slipped a gear, collided with another racer and the impact sent his car over the retaining fence and into the pit lane. Interviewed after the race, the twenty-one year old Scott reportedly said, “I was looking around and thinking ‘how the hell did I end up in the pit lane?'” Scott walked away from the crash with minimal injury and says he’s optimistic about his and his car’s return. “…it can be fixed,” he concluded.
