Knowing that Aric Almirola was badly injured in a wreck last weekend at the Kansas Motor Speedway, Richard Petty Motorsports is scrambling to find a replacement. Almirola has a compression fracture in his back, and Fox Sports, in the video below, says it could take him 10 to 12 weeks to heal.

That leaves Richard Petty Motor Sports with a lot of season to cover, and the team has started reaching out to drivers who may be interested in driving the No. 43.

Already, at least one driver has turned them down. The team, according to Fox Sports, reached out to former Joe Gibbs driver Carl Edwards, who turned down the offer.

It will be interesting to see who finally takes them up on their offer.
