Alpine is back.

A while back, Alpine released a "vison concept" on its reborn vehicle, and now it's coming to reality. Full specs will have to wait until after the Geneva Motor Show. Road Show reported that while some expected Alpine to use the A120 name, it stuck with A110, a throwback to the car whose legend grew through rally racing.

Road Show also reported that an interesting rumor has spread about the  A110. Road Show said:

"... It will sport a turbocharged four-cylinder engine mounted mid-ship, with an output somewhere between 250 and 300 horsepower and an estimated 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds."

According to Auto Car's History of Alpine, the car petered out in the 1990s due to soft sales.

And, Maxim noted that the A110 debuted at the Paris Motor Show in 1962, two years ahead of the Porsche 911.

Clearly, there's a feeling that, finally, the time is right for a reboot.
